Shogun by James Clavell

It was right down my lane and I loved it. It was full of intrigue, Japanese traditions and the like, and good writing.

The Japanese language parts and the use of typically Japanese suffixes were good, on occasion a bit unnecessary but still added a bit of feeling to the difficulties in communication between the characters.

Sometimes the story became a bit tedious in its repetition, but overall it didn't bothered me too much. All in all, it's a great book and I think it offers a great view of the era and the Japanese mindset.
