Book #3 of the Black Magician trilogy.
The only reason this one received a four instead of five is that I am not overly fond of the ending. Although appropriate and definitely realistic I am butthurt because my favourite character died, so that's why ;)
It's a good ending to a great series, on occasion the series felt a little rushed (such as the kiss between Dorrien and Sonea, I felt it came out of the blue). What I really liked about it was that it wasn't about Sonea finding love and then ending it when she found it, no, it was about her and magic and her development. Sure there were elements of romance, which is fine because it is a normal aspect of life, but they weren't the prime focus as it often becomes when it's a female lead, and I am so very happy about it!
All in all, this series is now one of my top 10!
